webOS 1.2 for the Palm Pre Leaked!
About a couple of weeks ago, I talked about some brewing rumors on upcoming Palm Pre webOs updates. I also mentioned that webOS 1.2 is being tested and might be released soon. Well, the upcoming software update has been exposed.
Videos featuring webOS 1.2 in action have been posted on YouTube. Of course, the hacking community has already discovered the latest features by ripping the code apart.
webOS 1.2 for the Palm Pre is expected to offer:
- updated web browser
- revised and improved copy / paste functionality
- email searching
- LEDs in the gesture area can be enabled for notifications
Unfortunately, there's also a remote app kill switch for Palm, which would apparently let it delete applications anytime it wants.
