Possible Palm Pre Shortages?

Sprint CEO Dan Hesse has explained the reason behind the relatively mild marketing of the Palm Pre. Apparently, Sprint is expecting possible Palm Pre shortages when the device is released on June 6.

According to Dan Hesse, "We don't intend to advertise [the Palm Pre] heavily early on because we think we are going to have shortages for a while. We won't be able to keep up with demand for the device in the early period of time."

This might be a disappointment for the thousands of Palm Pre fans who have been eagerly waiting for the first webOS device.

The Palm Pre will be available starting on Saturday, June 6 for $199 after $100 mail in rebate and a 2 year contract. Consumers can get the webOS Smartphone from Sprint stores, Best Buy, Radio Shack, and select Wal-Mart stores.
