Palm Pre Apps Catalog Now Open to Paid Applications

Here's an exciting update for Palm Pre users. Palm has announced that the e-commerce program has begun accepting paid applications for the webOS Apps Catalog.
Only applications that run on the webOS will be accepted in the e-commerce program. The apps should also not be delivered via the browser
The developers will get the lion's share of any money earned through sales while Palm will get 30 percent of the gross revenues from all sales.
Developers that participate in the beta program will be among the first to offer Palm Pre and webOS users paid applications. The accepted apps will be featured in mid September during the next update to the Apps Catalog
Initially, the paid apps will only be available in the U.S, but the developer program will expand beyond its current beta state later this year.
This development will lead to a more robust and competitive app store for the Palm Pre and future webOS devices.
