Palm App Catalog Reaches 8 Million Downloads

Two months ago, I blogged about the Palm App Catalog achieving more than 2 million downloads. Well, that number has now risen to 8 million.

The store for webOS applications currently offers a line-up of 125 products. The relatively small number off applications makes the achievement of reaching 8 million downloads quite remarkable.

The Palm Pre has only been in the market for three months but users have downloaded millions of applications. This is a sign that the platform and its store will flourish.

Of course, the number is small compared with the iPhone but Palm Pre supporters are very pleased with the numbers.
