The Palm Pre captivated the smartphone world when it was introduced in January but other high-end phones have been released in the course of the year. Here a list of the top smartphone rivals of the first webOS device.

  • iPhone 3GS - AT&T
  • Motorola CLIQ - T-Mobile
  • Nokia N97- unlocked
  • HTC Hero- Sprint
  • HTC Touch Pro2- AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, Sprint
  • BlackBerry Tour - Sprint, Verizon
  • myTouch 3G- T-Mobile
  • Motorola Droid- Verizon
  • BlackBerry Bold 9700- AT&T, T-Mobile
  • Sony Ericsson ExperiaX3 - not yet announced
  • Samsung Moment- Sprint
  • LG BL40 - unlocked

It certainly seems that the Palm Pre is facing formidable opposition even at its own carrier.

Well, I guess its great for consumers because it provides a wide range of options. I expect Palm to hit back and come up with a new webOS device or devices in 2010.
