GSM Palm Pre Coming to North America?

Here's some good news for non-Sprint subscribers. Some clues to the GSM version of the Palm Pre for North America have emerged.

The Wi-Fi Alliance has issued a certification for a new version of the webOS device with a P100UNA model number. This is clearly different to the Sprint exclusive device which has a P100EW model number and to the P100UEU European version.

The documents also indicate that the device will sport 850/1900MHz UMTS/HSPA for the North American 3G network.

So which carrier will get the first webOS device? Well, nothing is certain for now. It might land in AT&T, Rogers, Bell or Telus.

An unlocked GSM version of the Palm Pre is also a possibility.
