GSM Palm Pre to be Launched by Movistar and O2

The carriers offering the GSM version of the Palm Pre have been revealed. O2 and Movistar will offer the Palm Pre by the end of the year.

Movistar will have the rights to sell the webOS device in United Kingdom, Ireland, and Germany. Consumers in Spain can get it from Movistar.

Does this mean that a GSM Pre will be coming to the US? Well, it's as-yet unclear whether or not the European Pre will support the 3G bands in the US.

There is also the issue of exclusivity. A GSM Palm Pre in the US might only be possible in 2007.

Anyway, it's great to know that the Palm Pre will be hitting Europe. A successful run will ensure the arrival of more webOS handsets.
