Faulty Palm Pre Touchstone Charging Docks

The Touchstone charging dock was one of the impressive gadgets that were displayed during the official Palm Pre launch. The device has also become popular despite its $70 price tag. However, it appears that a number of users have experienced problems with the popular charging dock.
The main bug appears to be an annoying issue that causes the Palm Touchstone to emit a "DingDong" sound while charging the Pre.
The problem on this Palm Pre accessory appears to stem from shoddy manufacturing of some units which have misaligned magnetic coils which charges the Pre.
This bug may be remedied by raising the Pre a little higher on the stone, by way of inserting a small piece of paper or duct tape in between the two. Unfortunately, this fix does not work for all the faulty Touchstone charging docks.
