It appears that Sprint and Palm are being over protective and secretive of their precious Palm Pre at the ongoing CTIA 2009 in Las Vegas.

According to a some reporters, Palm and Sprint are not permitting anyone to touch or hold the Palm Pre with two hands! This strict supervision of the Palm Pre has been observed at other major mobile phone shows including CES and GSMA 2009.

Up until recently, conventional wisdom had the Palm Pre releasing in late June.  That was put into doubt by Jim Van, the CEO of Logicomminc when, on March 26th, he posted this nice little tidbit on his Twitter account.

"We do a lot of betas 4 Sprint.  Also testing WiMax fones. Not sure if Pre is final. Release date of 4/30, so I'm told.."

We have not heard a lot about the Palm Pre lately but it appears that mobile phone users are still interested in the highly anticipated Sprint exclusive Smartphone. Unique visitors to Pre pages in Sprint and Palm's website have remained consistent despite the relative lack of news on the webOS Smartphone.
